Screen Print

Part of my 8-layers illustration. Here first layer printed and s sheet with contours put over it.

During screen printing workshops we were looking into variety of textures and how they register in a print:

I prepared screens for an illustration for my project. It is a close up of two bodies standing very close to one another. I like how they are more anonymous and more universal this way. Again, I wanted to show the feel and energy between two people being close and intimate together. Below are drawings for each layer. I lost 2 layers showing lines enveloping the couple

Light pink background with lots of fingerprints marks relating to sense of touch.

Bodies -each different colour. Skin colours - female lighter one.

Shading on the bodies - each different colour. Two darker skin colours (female lighter one within the two).

Contour lines and dots symbolising merging and bodies influencing one another. Navy blue.

For the lines around bodies I had 2 separate screens- one red, the other-yellow (unfortunately they got lost during preparation for lock down). I printed the pink background and was meant to print the other 7 layers on a day when studios got suspended:(

I also wanted to explore this scene with bodies apart and draw the pull between them. I only just started working on the outline/dotted layer. Hopefully will finish when studios are accessible again.
