In last semester I had an on-line 1-2-1 demonstration of how to use some of Ps 2021 tools in order to create patter. I made a few notes back then and now had a chance to use them. I decided to use a simple element to make sure I understand how the process works and that I know my way around tools.

It took a little play, but I slowly started to understand how it all works:

I got a simple repetition of a stamp like design. I was still unsure if I did everything how I was shown, so decided to go back to an on-line pattern course from Domestika I did a year ago. I there learnt how to make a simple pattern repeat and a pattern repeat with a half drop:

I altered colour a little here:

Then proceeded to half drop:

Here's the tile I made, ready for repeat:

I previewed it in repeat and sketched more elements in:

At this point I felt that I knew how the repeat worked for a regular one and for a half drop. I was ready to work on my tile.
