Reworking blue palette. This is my first design to work from as a starting point:

Below a selection of colour inspirations from blue/violet palette:

I am planning on expanding flowers range, changing/adjusting the above florals and using acrylics instead of watercolours to begin with. Here's a link to flora inspiration from my pinterest:
I got in touch with Digital Design Studios at UWE to discuss technicalities of pattern design. I wanted to know how I could enhance my previous process. David Smith gave me some pdf instructions on creating pattern, but they weren't exactly what I needed, so he ultimately referred me to Peter McCallion. Pete gave me a handful of useful links for Photoshop tutorials and advised on the process in general.
"The 2020 Version of Photoshop introduced the Patterns Panel which lets you build patterns easier than in earlier versions
And the Newest version of Photoshop. 2021 has a Pattern Preview that lets you see live updates of your pattern as you edit your design and it looks fantastic and will more than definitely let you do what you want to do.
In the link below from Photoshop 2020 Essential training chapter 8 and 9 (about 45 minutes) takes you through everything you need to know about selecting, isolating, and masking objects from backgrounds.
( that's from Pete. I pasted it here to keep all information in one place for my own future reference)
I also had a chat with Pete on MsTeams, where he helped me establish the order of actions in pattern making and troubleshoot few editing steps of image processing.
The plan is to:
1. paint all florals separately;
2. scan them in and edit in Ps(cut out of the backgrounds and and adjust colour/size/etc);
3. arrange them in a pattern;
4. prepare file for digital printing according to printers requirements( waiting to hear about them from Pete);
